Michelle Gray, PhD. - Neuroplasticity and Shadow in Creative Depth - In Person Event!
This in-person experiential workshop explores the relationship between contemporary neuroscience and Jungian depth psychology, with particular attention to neuroplasticity and the dynamics of the shadow. Participants are invited to consider how psychological strengths and adaptive capacities, while essential to development, may also give rise to shadow expressions when they operate outside of conscious awareness.
Michelle Gray, PhD will present key concepts from brain science and depth psychology, then guide participants through Creative Depth methods that translate theory into lived experience. The group will explore how individual strengths are shaped over time and how shadow patterns may emerge when those strengths become rigid or overused, as well as consciousness and creative expression can support integration and psychological flexibility.
Through reflective dialogue, guided imagery, and creative process, participants will deepen awareness of shadow dynamics and explore new ways to engage and refine them through the lens of neuroplasticity. The workshop culminates in the creation of a multi-faceted mixed-media art piece, offering a tangible expression of inner dynamics and a meaningful container for reflection. Creative modalities may shift in response to the unfolding process of the group.
